With a name like "Murph," you'd think I'd have a whole St. Patrick's Day capsule ready for the holiday, yet once again I find myself scrambling to pull together something festive! I have two olive jackets, but somehow they don't seem quite green enough. Looks like Angie was pulling all sorts of interesting green finds for inspiration... love it! Next year I'll be ready.

What about you... do you wear green on/around March 17?

Last weekend I went to my spinners guild meeting and I did wear green. I don’t have very much, though. Also, I try to wear handknitted items. I wore this vest which I knitted in the round (so the stripes would match), a chartreuse turtleneck, chartreuse handknitted socks, and this Scottie pin that I bought at the thrift store for 50 cents.

Murph - you are a hoot- an Irish woman with no true green.... If you are not careful we will have to revoke your Irish creds- haha! Hubby and I are volunteering at our local Repair Cafe tomorrow- doors constantly opening and closing with folks wanting stuff fixed. I will be wearing this pale green Tee and keeping warm with this green shawl that lets me show off the harp pin I bought in Ireland while visiting the homeland of my grandfather. What better way to salute the O'Brien clan than by wearing a Brian Boru harp! For all you folks that like to crochet- the shawl is "fortunate corner to corner" pattern on moogly. And since I will be out and about early tomorrow- wishing all my YLF Irish friends a Happy St Patrick's Day!

I kind of miss real emerald green — I haven’t seen much I like in that shade in years. Most of my green is teal or mint. I’ll have to remember to wear some tomorrow!

I don’t usually plan to wear green around St. Patrick’s Day, green isn’t really part of my closet. But a total wild card super sale purchase for me this winter was an emerald green sweater from JCrew. I’ve received compliments every time I’ve worn it. Probably because I’m usually wearing neutral colors. BTW, I found that Top Shop sweater for my friend who needed festive green for a pub crawl. It’s cut on the short side but she is wearing it with high waisted jeans.

Well Murph at least your post inspired me to dress for St Patrick's Day which it is already, here. I saw the post just before my shower. So I put on my pale green top and pants and shiny green sandals. I also remembered that I have a shamrock brooch I had never worn. My husband put on a green shirt too. Each of us is one eight Irish so therefore our kids are as well.
When we got back from shopping for cavity slider door handles for our new house our second daughter 24 y was here. She was off to a St Patrick's Day party dressed as an Irish flag. Green blouse, orange skirt, white cardigan. Plus silver Celtic knot looking earrings. So I gave her the shamrock to wear also

Truth: I married an Irishman (awaiting his dna results, expecting 90% or better!) who ranks St. Patrick’s Day right up there with Christmas. But, me, with red hair, 10 siblings, and 8 years wearing a green plaid uniform, assumptions have been made!

JA: if only I could knit as beautifully as you! Lovely nod to the green. Bonus points for the darling pin, and EF’s harp pin is so unique. JANET, I’m also covered for any teal holidays RL, I do love a good corned beef, esp for sandwiches the day after! C: I love your green turtleneck and the beautifully unique Topshop find. St. Patrick's Day is very little known in Scandinavia, where I live.
From the middle of March, I may choose to wear some light or clear green items, but that's just because it looks springy. I don't dress in certain colours for national or religious holidays.

I like the colour of the sweater you have shown in your first photo, Murph. And I look forward to Angie's promised post on emerald green.

I used to wear green every St Patrick’s day at the behest of an Irish friend who would put on a house party and say “wear a bit of green to be seen”on the invites.It was always a bit of a struggle because I didn’t have a lot of clothes then and fewer green ones but everyone would always manage to find something in green to wear.We would then drink her delicious Irish coffees all evening and not sleep for a week!Hope you had a great celebration and may the road always rise up to meet you.
