Where to shop in Florida?

Next week I´m flying with my family from Germany to Florida. Hopefully I´ll have some time off for some shopping. We´ll be in Orlando, then West coast and finally in the Miami area. Do you have any tips for shopping destinations? I´d be very thankful!!!

Miami is excellent shopping area! Must hit the department stores. You will love those! It will be SO hot though. Pack extra and wash lots.

Phoebe, that sounds like a fun trip you have planned!

Shopping in Orlando offers plenty options. There are about 2-3 outdoor outlet malls covering every possible retail store in the US, well almost all of them anyways. A little note of warning though - these outlet malls are always packed and busy and personally, I find even half a day at one mall a little exhausting, especially given the heat. The Mall at Millenia is also an outdoor mall but non-outlet and offers a better shopping experience, with more of an upscale feel.

I love shopping in Miami! Especially because I have access to stores that we don't have here in Tampa. Especially the area on one end of Collins Avenue. You have stores like Club Monaco, Mango, Guess, Armani Exchange, Versace, Bennetton, etc. There are a few malls outside of the Downtown Miami/South Beach area and I've only been to Aventura Mall which is also quite nice.

Where on the west coast will you be spending time?

As to what to wear- what Angie said - we're seeing 95 deg highs these days Oh, also some rain gear - you can definitely predict some unpredictable spots of rain

Oh my ,shopping in Orlando.I am having palpitations just thinking about it...

I have not shopped in Miami for a long time so I will leave that one to Vani.
Orlando on the other hand, I think of as a shopping mecca.There are malls and shopping outlets EVERYWHERE. My favorites are along International drive area: the Premium outlets(fantastic mall, nearly everything you could want for mid-upper end clothing), the Mall of the Millenias(including the shops next to the actual mall, including Nordstroms Rack) and the Designer Premium outlet(can't recall the exact name). Be prepared to spend lots of money unless you are careful about it, the temptations are insane!

And yes, the heat is really tough,The malls also do get crowded by about 11 am/noon. Dress in loose clothing and sandals to make it easier.A small umbrella that folds up does the trick for me to avoid getting soaked in afternoon showers

p.s--I have been craving a trip to Germany myself after being swept away by their WC football team this year. They were SO fabulous Hoping I can make it there next year, and hang out in the crowd yelling during a Euro game if I am lucky...
