Where to find interesting and washable long sleeve toppers?

Ok in looking at my closet recently I noticed something. I have a good assortment of dressy tops that are unfortunately not durable and dry clean only.
I need durable long sleeve tops for commuting. Must be machine washable, because I drink coffee on the bus in the morning and bumps happen. Plus I use a cross body messenger bag.
My current selection of long sleeve tee are looking very much worse for wear. I looked at Gap, some possibilities. J Crew looked like too much tissue tee stuff. Sassy sweatshirts would work too.

I've been eyeing a bunch of interesting tops on Anthropologie's website. I don't buy any everyday clothes that need dry cleaning.

AG, huh. I went through shopstyle.com and found some Improvd pieces at Asos that way.

As you found out about Asos by yourself... no good. I like Asos for skirts, dresses and petite, but don't recomend them for tanks or tees. The armholes are usually too large/deep or dropped (I mean, you need a top under a top or not minding showing your whole bra...).

If it is commuting work, why not try the basic line from HM? They published two cotton long sleeved with lace panels last week. Plus some animal print sweaters.

Even a google search shows Improvd at Asos. So weird that Asos itself doesn't show it.

I think the line is dead, so I'd buy it now.

I saw a couple of cute long sleeve tops at H&M, but I'm not sure they'd be interesting enough for you.

Depends on what you want as washable.

For plain cotton V, round, and scoop necks--pima, say--you would try all the major retailers for your best fit. Talbots, BR, AT, JCrew and on and on. No stone unturned. Also some washable silk knits.

Then you've got the whole range of cotton woven button-downs--so, some you'd "dry clean" to get the shirt pressed, but that's often cheaper than cleaning silks & such, or you'd get wrinkle-free types and launder.

Other fabrics I wash on delicate or hand wash are synthetic blends--pure rayon is out, needs tender care and ironing, but rayon-poly is semi-breathable and more washable wrinkle-resistant; and other mixtures.

Usually but not always the washable search leads you to less exotic brands--Nordstrom Halogen has some interesting tops in the new arrivals.

I thought uniqlo too. I like their tech fabric, heat tech in winter and Airism in summer. They are meant as inner wear though (and sold in that section of the store/site) so I size up if I want to wear them on their own. They may be too basic for what you are looking for though. I guess silk might be too delicate for your commute but they do also have a nice line of reasonably priced equipment style silk blouses. They are hand washable. Uniqlo also sometimes does interesting collabs with Japanese designers.

Anthro always has a good selection, but maybe too twee for you. Worth a look though.

well for basic easy to wear and easy to care, i like micheal stars, velvet, vince and james perse. weston wear has interesting stuff, but its not always as easy to care for (may need to hang dry and/or iron)
