Where to find a trench coat for a busty hourglass?

I'm trying to stick to Angies' great suggestions for hourglass figures and have been looking all winter for a single breasted, belted trench coat with no epaulets and small lapels. Does this kind of thing exist right now or has anyone seen something that might do? Would love a light neutral color. I'm 5' 9", a size 8 and would like to get a trench that hits somewhere on my mid-thigh. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hmm...I will be on the lookout for a trench for you, Deb. I suspect that since Spring is around the corner, you might be able to find what you're looking for then--a lot of retailers roll out trenches for that season.

in general i would say no, your requirements don't readily exist in the market right now. most trenches are double breasted, drama collars, etc.

neiman marcus has some, but they are high dollar. earlier in the season they had some simple burberry trenches on sale.

Deb, I am a busty hourglass and I have a double breasted trench. The key is that the buttons are very close together, so they do not sit awkwardly over my chest. Try looking for trenches with close-set buttons. It doesn't sound like it would make a big difference, but it really does. I also have a double breasted coat, but the buttons are wider apart, and it makes me look wider as a result.

I'd watch Jessica Simpson (the brand, not the person!!) and see what they have coming out for spring, or even if you can pick up one of their fall trenches on sale. Nordstrom carries them.

After months of searching, I found this trench for my busty figure. I bought it in the early fall at Macys. The brand is Michael Kors.

I did have to have some alterations done to it. (The sleeves had to be shortened and I had it taken in at from the waist down).

Deb - I think Maya makes a good point. I like to try things on and see how they look on the body. Sometimes a single breast coat on me can look like too much fabric on top. I prefer something that has a nice collar that forms a good "v" shape. If the buttons are the same color as the coat they may not be as distracting, so sometimes I can do a double breasted coat. It really depends on the coat. Good luck with your search!

Thanks so much for all your help. I hate shopping and have searched for months always coming home empty-handed. ....but there are at least 3 trenchs here that are fantastic! I'm gonna go and try on and hopefully help out the economy tomorrow. You are all so talented.

Even though I'm male, I'd like to throw out where I do the shopping for my wife. As she is extremely busty, I normally end up order all her bras and clothes for her from overseas.
