Where to buy warm slippers?

I run cold and I really want to find a pair of warm, fuzzy slippers. So far I've only been able to find the scuff-slipper type which leaves my heels cold, since I prefer to go barefoot for as long as possible during autumn.

Does anyone have ideas for where to find these slippers? The limiting factor is that I have small feet (US 5) and a size 6 full-shoe slipper is definitely too big. I ordered a pair of girls' moccasins from Nordstrom, but the back rose up too high and cut into my heel (I have this problem with ballet flats as well, but I can't put sticky inserts into lined fuzzy slippers!).

I bought a fab pair from LL Bean. Sooo warm and comfy!

My feet are always cold, and I found these to really Keep out the chill. Mind you, they are probably not YLF material as they do not have a lot of style, but in the dead of Wisconsin winter, they keep my toes warm!

And the come in size 5.

Thanks to both of you! I never thought of looking at LL Bean and other "outdoorsy" retailers, although it makes sense. Their slippers are on the pricey side but could be worth it if they're truly warm and comfy.

I think they are ugly, but I swear by my short Ugg boots as slippers. My feet are always cold, and I've tried almost every type of slipper. Nothing did the trick until Uggs, I think because the sheepskin breathes and my feet don't get clammy.

That being said, I never wear them out of the house (well, maybe once to take the kids to school...)

I wear Haflingers. They are boiled wool. I wear them year-round. These are my current favorites.

There are a variety of styles with hard bottoms or not. They have scuffs like these and also full shoe style.

I'm also a fan of LLBean slippers for warmth. When it's really cold I wear them with wooly socks. You might be able to wear a size 6 with thick hiking socks.

LL Bean seems to have a clear majority vote! Does anyone have experience with their (faux-shearling) girls' Wicked Good slippers, maybe for your kids? They don't look as warm, but are also much more affordable. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around slippers costing as much as regular shoes do. But maybe it's better to invest, since I have a tendency to skimp on loungewear.

It's not like you are going to buy new slippers every year. I'd say invest. Because if you buy the cheap synthetics and then discover they're not warm enough you'll be kicking yourself.

I never wear them outside, but the soft soles can get kind of icky on the bottom after a couple of years. I think I'm a little OCD for caring about that, though. I think any real shearling slipper that covers your heels will be great. I had a male friend in college who always wore his LL Bean wicked good slippers around the dorms...I was always jealous!
