Where to buy purse hardware

I am at a loss here. You might remember I have a crossbody bag that was shortened too much by the cobbler. The only solution seems to be adding hardware to the strap to lengthen it, but I don't know where to get such a thing. I have googled and gone to the Home Depot and found nothing. I also went to Mood online but didn't find anything there either.

I don't know exactly what I'm looking for yet. I was thinking either a gold chain or O rings, but they have to match the existing gold hardware on the bag which is tricky.

Where can I find what I"m looking for, or what else can I do to save this bag?

Craft stores like Joann's have a section of purse hardware. Good luck finding what you need!

How about buying a used handbag from a thrift or consignment store with some hardware that you like, remove it and then add it on to your bag?

Another thought is using hardware from a belt, bought cheap from TJMaxx or somewhere.

Wow Shell, that place is walking distance from where I work. I'll have to check it out in person. Half the battle is finding the hardware. The other half is figuring out how to attach it. Thanks!

I thought about that Claudia. I'd have to find the right match though, which could be tricky.

A fabric store might have something useful, too.

Depending on the style of the bag, it might be fun to use the kind of boathooks and rings you can find in the hardware store.

There's a huge fabric store here that has tons of purse hardware, so I'd try fabric stores.
