Near Tampa, FL right now but home is the Sierra Nevada mountains in CA. We are within an hour or so of a nordies here but not at home on the west coast, so I'd say it's not what coast you're on. But many shop online anyway since shipping is free both ways.

south orange county California-near the beach.

Camden, New Jersey

Vancouver, BC, Canada. Very close to Seattle. I think the majority of the readers are American, but I think there are quite a few Canadians, Australians and Brits, too, as well as a smattering of voices from other countries all over the world.

Bay Area, Northern California - we are our own special planet, hehe. There are plenty of Nordstroms and Nordstom Racks in the greater Bay Area. However, in the heart, where I am - large stores are zoned out. I have to hike 2-3 miles to go to the special sock store to get socks. You have to go on foot. The towns (which all run-together) are very anti-car...

I'm in boston. We do have nordies here but not in the city proper (although there is a Rack). They are all in the suburbs and hard to get to by public transport so I don't go very often.

Near Phoenix, Arizona. (If you click on a member's picture, it will take you to their profile, which may or may not include information about where they live).

We have some great shopping in the Phoenix and neighboring Scottsdale, including a couple of Nordstroms and plenty of Rack stores. I'm pretty sure they are nothing like the Flagship Nordstrom in Seattle, though.

I'm from Dublin Ireland. We don't have Nordstrom here but I am going to Boston in the autumn so I am hoping to visit this store as it sounds really good.

I live just outside of Denver

I'm originally from Pennsylvania, relocated to Little Rock. Probably the only Arkansan here! No Nordstrom here; Dillard's is headquartered here so that is my main dept store. But we have several nice boutiques and I do a lot of online shopping.

To answer your question as it was posed: where am I FROM? Originally from the Heartland of the USA - Missouri (waving to my southern neighbor Susie).

Where do I live NOW? Mexico City, Mexico.

So yes, YLF is really global!!!

Beautiful Asheville, N.C.

Guilty as charged: Portland, Oregon aka hipster central.

Southern California. Small beach town. Nordstroms and Nordstoms Racks galore!

*waving from Belgium*

Living in the Nordie-less hinterland of NM right now, but preparing to move back to the shopping mecca of Austin, TX.

Another Georgia girl here - about an hour from Atlanta.

Southern Wisconsin: 4.5 hours from the MOA Nordies, 2.5 hours plus (depending on traffic) from Chicago Nordies, and coming this fall, less than 15 minutes from a new Nordstrom Rack.

Hamilton, New Zealand.

Have also lived in Australia and England, and visited the USA twice....

Thanks everyone,
just wondered everyone talks about Nordstrom but no talk about Bloomies or L&T, that's why

I don't frequent the one near me because it's rather staid, which is odd because of the area. Or they know their customer and cater to them.

Though I have lived in both Boston and Chicago, I am with Thistle and currently reside in WI. But I am further northwest of Thistle.

Hey, Thistle, apparently there will be a Nordstrom proper on Madison's west side by the end of this year. Not that Madison is more convenient for you than the Rack. Oh, and FWIW, I find the Saks Off Fifth in the same center as the Rack to be a FAR better store, and their shoes are TDF. After your new baby, you should make a date with girlfriends and check out that new shopping center. It has a Carter's baby shop, too!

I live near Orlando, Florida, but originally am from Northern California (another thing I have in common with Mo!) and I spent much of my childhood in Panama, Central America... But the short answer is Florida.

@ fellow Badgers Echo & Thistle: I heard there will be a Nordstrom Rack in Madison WI near West Towne Mall in fall 2014 (in the old Gander Mt. space next to Best Buy). A new Nordstrom is coming to Wauwatosa's Mayfair mall in fall 2015.

An hour west of Boston in a small town overrun with farms.

Cleveland, Ohio. We have 1 nordies and 2 racks.

San Francisco Bay Area here. Bloomies, Neiman-Marcus, and Barney's aren't that much more inconvenient than one of the Nordstrom's I go to, but I figure the former three are more expensive and I mostly purchase online (and return to the store). I got out of the habit of thinking of Macy's, and their online prices are sometimes higher than the store.

Another here from Vancouver. *waving to Aziraphale and jackiec! And we are counting down to getting our own Nordstrom's next year.

I've lived in Silicon Valley for over 3 decades, and am in San Jose currently.

Just because no one else here has mentioned Utah, I will say that I was born and raised in Salt Lake City. My folks lived in the Sugarhouse area, and I used to go to Nordstrom Rack there when I went to visit Mom and Dad. I bought many pairs of Ferragamos at that Rack at great prices, but the last time I checked it out about 10 years ago there wasn't a single pair.

chadya, I think part of the reason people talk about Nordstrom's has already been mentioned -- many are shopping online, and Nordstrom's has wonderful return policies and customer service. It's a huge benefit to online shoppers.

Another reason is that Angie's in Seattle so it's her main department store.

And still another is that we're coming up to the Nordstrom anniversary sale so people are getting excited about that.
