Where have all the good clothes gone?

why can I not find a website to shop for clothes my size? I am normal proportioned (not short = "petite") just... well... skinny. I need size 0 and smaller. I need lingerie that is not sexual or "my little pony" and "ice princess." I need jeans and... WHAT HAPPENED?

I am 47 years old.

You’re a tiny person and I guess size 0 is not stocked to the same extent as other sizes.

The key is to shop early (this is what Angie says, and I agree, even though I’m a size small—this size goes fast too).

For bras, I think you might need to go high end to get the right size, unfortunately.

I guess you’re saying it’s harder to find your size now? This might have to do with the population just getting bigger overall (both in height and girth.)

annaleigh, as Smittie suggests, you have to get the smallest sizes EARLY in the season because they sell out the fastest.

There are plenty of 0's, 00's, XS and XXS's available online (if you shop early!). And you can shop fits that are narrower than others.

Jeans are not hard to find in size 23 to 25 online.

Simone Perele has smaller band and cup sizes than most. Pricier though.

As someone who is slight and regular height, I also need a small size and a narrow fit. At 5ft 6, petite clothing is desperately too short for me. I do a lot more altering than I used to on pants and jeans to create a perfect fit these days because size specifications are wider than they used to be. A US0 today was the same size as a US4 twenty years ago.

You need to shop earlier and be prepared to pay full price. There is a whole list of retail places that small slim women are sized out of.

i found this forum and Angie in particular very helpful in alerting me when it would be time to shop for the next season. Shopping early means shopping a whole lot earlier than I was used to!

Yeah, been there, done that. I would have gotten the t-shirt if there had been one in my size.

I agree with Joy: shop early and be ready to pay full price. And do most of your shopping online.

What is frustrating too is that I can find bras my size (Natori is good), but I am sized out of the matching underwear.

I have a couple of XXS tops from Madewell that are OK for size (I usually wear a size 00 on top).

My hardest battle is shopping for blazers that have sleeves long enough.

I always find it difficult to shop for shoes. I have small foot size. I always end up buying in the kids' section!

Another one here who wears the same range of sizes as you do. And it's super frustrating because they sell out so quickly. I am the kind who waits for promotions or sales, and I often miss out on what I want because those sizes sell out first

Inconsistent sizing is also frustrating... also, Petite sizing often doesn't work because of the proportions (lengths will be too short on me).

I feel the pain!
