Just came across a 2010 article by Elizabeth Weil, "Dressing the Part: Why I’ll Never Look My Best in This Town."

She writes, "I’ve developed a theory: We all have a city in which we look best, a city that somehow aligns with our values and brings out our best selves, that same way certain blue-eyed redheads look great in teal."

While she focuses on cities, the same could be true of non-city places, and not necessarily because of general preference for that type of locale.

What's your best region or city? Or, counter to Weil's idea, have you found a way to feel fully your best in places very different to each other?

For myself, my first thought was Oslo in winter. But I'm still thinking about it.
