Where does the peplum end on your body? Is this fit OK?

I found this super cute faux leather moto jacket at Target, of all places. It's mauve, so just a hint of pink.

I've already worn it so I'm keeping it for sure. Plus it was only $39.99!

However, is the peplum on this jacket placed too high? The seam of the peplum actually hits my body about an inch above my belly button. (I think I'm long waisted, so maybe that is why the peplum is higher on me?)

What do you think of the fit?

From photos on models on the Nordstroms site, it appears that many, if not most, peplum jackets fit above the natural waist. It is a little hard for me to assess from your pics, but it looks like the jacket's length hits in the right place but it's long in the sleeves.

I think it's fine, especially where the ruffles are in the back. I really like the ruffles! I haven't tried out this new peplum look yet, but every time I see it at the mall I'm tempted.

I think it looks great. I don't think a peplum has to hit you directly at the waist. I think the higher placement of this one gives it a fun little bustle look. Actually, it is perfect to tastefully highlight your cute keister!
