Where do you find pics of potential hair styles/cuts? My online searches have not been as successful as I'd like, but I'll bet some of you know of online resources I have missed. Please share!

I've had success with Googling, though it takes an awfully long time and you'll have to get through a lot of silly pictures of 14 year olds with "emo girl cuts" to get to what you want. It definitely takes patience and you may have to reword your search a few times.

I also like some of the cuts I see on the websites I shop at. There is a BR model whose hair I was obsessed with for a while and I loved the cut on the model that Khris once posted. The nice thing about that is that they usually have multiple views of the garment, so multiple views of garment = multiple views of hair.

I'm a fan of http://www.hairthursday.com/ - which has great ideas, and the author gets a lot of her photos from http://www.dailymakeover.com/hairstyles

http://mopshots.com/ is another option - it has pictures of real people, not celebs. It looks like the site hasn't been uploading new images for a while, but if you use the search function or browse you can go through the old pictures for some inspiration!

Maya, I don't know that I have anything in particular in mind. I'm just looking for inspiration. I actually saw a woman with a hairstyle I seriously envied this past weekend, but I didn't know her, and it was at a memorial service, so I didn't feel it was appropriate to ask to photograph her hair!

I figure out which celebs have the same face shape as I do, and see which looks I like on them the best.
Then I go to my stylist and say "how about Victoria, Drew, or Heidi" and he picks which one he thinks looks best.

Hmmm....well, I have excessively curly hair so if I see someone in public with hair I like that is similar to mine I will leap tall buildings and run through traffic to ask her who her stylist is! But obviously, only at appropriate occasions so I understand your reluctance to approach that individual at the service. Is there a friend or someone you can tactfully ask who might know who she goes to?

Otherwise, for me, since I do have such difficult hair, I keep my eyes peeled for real life women with hair that is working and then summon the courage to ask them. They are usually flattered it seems!

Sarah, I don't know if Meg Ryan and I share a face shape, but I always seem drawn to her shorter, messy hairstyles! Your hair in your profile pic is uber-fab, btw!!

Agrace, I asked several people if they knew her, but no one did, so I had no luck on that front. I think you're right, I'll just need to ask people outright sometimes. If the situation had been different, I would have totally asked to whip out my phone and photograph her hair from all angles!
