Where are all the flared midis and tulle skirts? :(

Mango - no

Zara - one striped (the one that Ceit bought). I already have a striped tube skirt. And I am looking for a poofy skirt (box pleated / tulle may be)

H&M - No

M&S and Debenhams (UK stores) - No

F21 - No

So where are they? Only at high end stores? Online shopping is unfortunately not my forte.

You know I haven't seen them in mall retail in a long time. Except the Target Peter P collection. There was a fit and flare dress with a tulle skirt underlayer: http://www.target.com/p/peter-.....4#prodSlot oops, I guess it's a little shorter than I remembered.

Actually, I saw two great skirts in H&M recently. That is - both midis on ME. One was pencil skirt (ok, not flared, but if someone's interested), high waisted, with the zipper instead of the back slit. Very very pretty. I only stayed away because I have enough pencil skirts for now. The other one was sunray pleats and also very pretty. I was very tempted, but the last one in my size had one pleat awkwardly twisted probably from the way it's been stored in transport, so I left it heavy hearted...

Neel :: I just checked H&M on-line. There's a whole section just for midis and 17 of them. My small town H&M does not carry so many styles and now I have serious problem because at least 1/3 of these look great to me...

Ornella - the black and white printed midi is what I was searching for and that's the only midi H&M had here in their website (middle east). Apparently they haven't received stocks yet and I cannot buy online either because they don't offer online shopping in middle east!! I want to cry!!! I had made so many outfits in my head with that skirt

I searched New look today and loads of skater flared skirts but they are mid thigh length on 5'3 me o_O. No thank you

I don't want pencil skirts or anything A line either Ornella. I want to wear a new to me silhouette with a proper flared skirt. But the fashion gods are not helping

I am leaning towards stitching one now, if it doesn't work out expensive that is.

Rabbit - I haven't seen UO here .. I am now tempted to order from Asos but shipping and returns might be a pain

Ornella - Those midis are seriously awesome in your H&M!!! Why can't they bring it to the retail here???? Grrrrr...

Oh wow, I didn't know H&M had so many midi skirts. I'm going to go have a look online. Ramya, if the skirt is too long on you, why not get it shortened to the right length? I've shortenend three of my skirts so far to have them at a flattering length. I'm just grateful if there's enough length to the skirt to do it!

I was at ASOS online yesterday and saw that they had a good selection. Depending on if you're looking for work or fun, you might need to keep an eye on fabric content, but they have a lot of options.

Love Ornellas link! The dearth of midis in the stores (expect pencils, of which I have plenty) has sent me to my sewing machine. One good trip to the fabric store in Evanston and I'll be good to go!

I've just been wanting to try on some flared midis to get an idea for the best level of fullness for me -- and I can't find them, either!

There are lots and lots of flared stores here in the US - but most of them are still very short. Mid-thigh or a few inches above the knee.

I already went to H&M looking for the few midis that appear on the Canadian website - which does not have online shopping. Couldn't find any, and of course there is no sales help there to speak of. I actually emailed them about the one blush pink skirt I was most excited about. They replied that it wasn't even in their WAREHOUSE yet, because of a supplier issue.
I also asked how to get help in-store, it was a genuine question because I've never been asked if I need help there. I mean I was there for 20 minutes, on 3 floors, looking at women's and kids' stuff and did not see anyone approachable. They gave me a standard apology about how this was not their typical customer service. But it totally is typical, and I just wanted to know the trick for help finding items in-store that I see online! They have sooo much stuff and women's is on two floors, separated in the middle by the men's floor, so it's just frustrating as hell to hunt for something specific.

H&M issues aside, I wonder if we're just too eager/early and more stuff will appear by May???

I really hope they bring out some midis in the high street stores. I wasn't even going to give them a try, but now I think I want to!
