Where are all the "color-blocking" pieces?

I am a little nervous about thrifting them because I've gotten called out on a couple of dated looking items... But I'm not seeing thse items at Nordstrom or elsewhere yet - it's still all stripes and darker colors. Is anyone seeing anything different, because this is a trend I am so ready to embrace!

I got a fab Ralph Lauren tomato-red tee at Nordstrom Rack the other day. I guess you have to keep looking...

Una I'm with you, haven't seen much color. Everything I've gotten for spring so far is neutral/muted and I'm slightly annoyed by it

Zara! The lookbook has a ton of colour-blocked outfits!

I've seen some bright colours at H&M... red mostly, but the spring lookbook has some other nice colours (I think pink in particular, although I've seen some yellow and blue stuff as well in-store).

I've been looking around at some other labels but it seems to all be really regulated to high fashion brands at the moment, and I can't find too many other places that have a lot of colourblocked pieces; I think you'll probably be finding it scattered around at this point in the season, but that's just what I'm thinking right now.

Good question, Una.

The stores I have recently visited are packed with muted EARTH TONES, which look horrible on me. I'm planning to check out T J Maxx, Marshalls, Stein Mart and of course, JCP.

I must have color!

Jyoti, thank you. Alas, we have no Zara or h & M here *sob*. I am going to Hawaii in 6 weeks and holding out for my shopping fix there! Maybe by that time there will be more bright colors in the stores.

Barbara, high-five! I've seen lots of colors that are one shade up from pastel, and lots of muted and navy. I want the vibrant colors in that link I posted, dang it! Emerald green, fuschia, orange, purple...

I'm hoping that once the navy/pastels/Sea of Beige moves on through, there will be bright, bold skies ahead! I have seen bright colors at Urban Outfitters, Rachel Roy, and Bloomingdales (all online).

Oh no! I don't know if I could survive without H&M these days. xD I'm sure we will see more colour-blocked stuff trickling out over the season though. I took another look around the web, and it is really hard to find lines that are doing a lot of colour blocking! I was also at the mall today, and didn't see a lot of US stores doing much colour! This one I did find this one line (INC at Macy's) that has some tunics that might work.

American Apparel always has tons of basics in a bunch of colours too, and Gap had some nice cardigans and some brightly coloured bottoms.

EDIT: Also try United Colours of Benetton if you can find it!
