So my Banana Republic chambray shirt is a work horse for me. I got it four, maybe five years ago. But one thing that I don't like is that there is no top button at the collar. So I can't button it all the way up, which is a look I like.
But yet I somehow can't be bothered to find a replacement.
I even found this one on sale:

I look them up occasionally online, but still don't pull the trigger.
Do you ever do this?

Hmm, well, I've had maybe a dozen or more black skirts over the last 20 years, but none of them were the 'right' one. Too short, too fancy, too loose, too aline, blah blah blah. So I guess I'm stuck on wearing 'good enough' black skirts until I can find the 'ONE'.

Oh, yes. Sometimes the hunt just becomes too much trouble. And then I'll stumble upon the perfect replacement after I've quit searching for it. For your chambray shirt, what about a pin as a substitute for the top button, or using a choker necklace to achieve the look?

Yes, all the time. Pretty nearly my entire wardrobe would fall into this category, actually. Hmm.... I'm not sure I like that.

yes. It seems so hard to find things that have all 3: fit me, have high quality and at a price I can afford! so elusive...I get frustrated, and stick with what I have found. But I am getting less happy "settling".

Sometimes I think it might be for me "the grass in greener"....like somewhere out there is a more perfect item, I just have to keep looking, but maybe they really don't exist? And maybe I am thinking too much about it, and should just be happy with what I have. But then, sometimes I think perhaps it is like finding a partner, and having unrealistic expectations looking for perfection

Right now I am thinking about leopard booties. Low heel, fur with a classic/realistic print, super comfortable. I have the pettys & I love the style, but they are not very comfortable at all on my foot...so the search continues to find a replacement.....

No, I guess I don't think about that so much. If something isn't actively bugging me, and I wear it a lot, then as far as I am concerned all is good.
