I popped into my local Goodwill today to see if I could find a cool vintage lampshade. No dice.

But I found this sweet Ellen Tracy coat, reminiscent of Kim Novak’s white coat in “Vertigo” - something I have wanted for 20+ years! It’s also similar to Sharon Stone’s white coat in “Basic Instinct”. I think it’s from the 1990s. Cashmere and angora, with a matching sash belt. I’m in love!

It had some small stains - makeup, and what I suspect to be coffee. In this order, I used:

1) Microfiber cloth + water (makeup vanished)

2) Microfiber cloth + water mixed with some blue dawn and a capful of white vinegar. (That took care of all but two coffee marks)

3) Microfiber cloth + Zout (only one faint coffee stain remains and it’s on the inside of the sleeve and not easily seen)

I used very gentle strokes going in one direction at a time. The coat goes to the cleaners in the morning, but not before I played with a Vertigo look, even though it’s been in the 90s here.
