For the past few years I have worn the Athleta Brooklyn cropped pants as a total summer workhorse -- they go pretty much anywhere from out to dinner to hiking. I have them in black, and in the black and white plaid -- the black pair is a size 8, and the plaid are a 10 and fit looser, which is fine by me for a summer pant.

I saw that Athleta was making the Brooklyn in a new print, plus some other solids, so I decided to try them. Unfortunately, it seems they've somehow changed the cut. I can't quite put my finger on the issue, but they don't work for me nearly as well as my old ones do. I think they're cut narrower through the hips, which is exactly what I DON'T need. I tried them in and 8 and a 10 and didn't like them in either size.

Have you had a classic-to-you item that got changed in cut by the designer/manufacturer? I find it so frustrating.
