Here we go again -- Angie's post has reminded me about another question that's been bugging me (yet another age-appropriateness question -- you can tell I'm getting closer to 40): when can you no longer wear knee socks? I mean visible knee socks, like when your skirt hem is above the socks, not when you wear knee socks under jeans.

I have been wearing knee socks with combat-type boots for years, pretty much whenever the weather allows me to do so. (I don't wear them with shoes and a skirt, as I think that looks a bit too Catholic schoolgirly). The socks are not much higher than the top of my boots. How much longer can I get away with this?
