I like them, myself, but then my taste in shoes seems to be a bit matronly and/or sporty. I am often still drawn to looks that were popular in the 90s in my home state, where the mountains were a 20 minute drive away and people regularly dressed as if they were about to go for a hike, even if they were only hiking to the coffee shop.
The important thing, though, is that they are 1) not hideous, and 2) practical. I particularly like the lower heel. Lately I am finding that I just can't handle anything over two inches, especially not if I am going to be walking around at all.
In fact I might even look for a pair of these myself...
