What's your favorite shampoo?

Just curious! My stylist has recommended a sulfate free shampoo for color treated hair called BY by Framesi. It's pretty pricey at $19.95 for a 10 oz bottle.

What is your opinion of sulfate free shampoos? Are they worth the price? What do you use?

I've been using a sulfate free shampoo for awhile now because it helps with some of my scalp issues. For those that color, it's supposed to be better about not stripping color too. I've been using the Loreal Everpure ones and they work great and are a fraction of the price (about $5.99 a bottle).

I'm hovering between morrocan oil and Tresemme shampoos and conditioners both for colour treated, damaged hair. Price wise morrocan oils are £16 a bottle tresemme are about £5 my hair does feel softer with the more expensive one though x

I scored some Organix poo and conditioner on sale (2.99 each) and have been using it for a month now. The texture of my hair doesn't seem to be any different but my color seems to have lasted much longer than with regular shampoo.

There are lots of sulfate-free options these days. Burt's Bees has some and you can get them for like $7/bottle at Target, Walgreens, etc. I've had the best luck with Pure & Basic Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. There's no need to spend $20/bottle to get a sulfate-free shampoo.

I use John Masters Lavender and Rosemary Shampoo everyday. It is a bit pricey but a bottle lasts me about six months.

While Burt's Bees is a tiny bit cheaper, I have found that it is quite heavily perfumed which makes my scalp really itchy.

I use Pureology shampoo & condition a little expensive but worth every penny. And a little dab a do you last a long time.

I love Pureology, but the ingredients have changed (cheapened?) and the price has gone up significantly since L'Oreal bought the company.

I don't have strong feelings about sulfate vs. non-sulfate as much as I do about conditioning agents in shampoo. I prefer a shampoo with no silicones or conditioners. That way the shampoo rinses cleaner and leaves fewer deposits and I can put conditioner only where I want it.

I use Loreal's sulfate free shampoo - $7 at Walgreens.

Recent favorite is a solid shampoo from Lush called 'Trichomania'. It's really not the right type of shampoo for me (my hair is not dry or overly fluffy) but it smells so good and it lathers beautifully. Since I have short hair, it doesn't seem to weight it down. I don't know if that would be the case were it longer.

I used to use Pureology. Then switched between Aveda, Kerastase and Redken for years. I fell in love with Wen haircare but ran out of the products and now my haircolor is going brassy.

Just changed to Tresemme. Apparently it was all the silicones in Pantene that were making my hair smell funky! Ugh. Tresemme has a low sulfate shampoo and silicone free conditioner. The shampoo is a little sketchy though--the second and third ingredients are sulfates...but I only use it sparingly at the scalp. I am very generous with the conditioner though.

I used to use pricier brands like Aveda or Redken but in the end my hair can't seem to tell the difference in quality.

This is not really the kind of answer you're looking for, but I make my own. And it uses two ingredients: baking soda and water. About as safe and everything-free as you can get and cheap as a baby chick. It doesn't seem to affect my hair coloring (PHEW, or I'd give it up), and it helped clear up some scalp issues.

I've used sulfate free shampoos in the past and initially they worked OK but after repeated usage I began to have problems. I now use Bumble & Bumble Volumizing shampoo/conditioner/spray and have nothing but amazing results with it. I no longer have any scalp issues, flaky scalp, pimples, etc. My hair is full and looks gorgeous. I also color my hair and highlight it and find that it's gentle enough that it doesn't destroy the color too badly. I color every 4 months or so.

I use Paul Mitchell because my stylist tells me to, and I do whatever she tells me.

I don't color my hair, and I've never heard of sulfate-free shampoo.
