I also think you look great in this jacket. Together with Ingunns post I will be seriously considering getting a denim jacket.

I see no problem with the denim jacket. All of these stylings are great on you!

First off it doesn't look bad, however I think it hits right at the waist of these jeans and is such a similar wash that it makes it a bit denim tuxedo which I've always been told is wrong so it never looks good to my eye. I like the jacket on it's own merit, but with non denim items like a dress or with the longer top untucked (like 3) and non denim bottoms. Maybe we have the same poison eye for the like denim with like denim?

Sarah, I see no problem at all here. Can I ask you, do you love denim jackets? I have one that I bought after seeing how cool you all look wearing yours only to find that while it may have looked good, I don't really like them for me! I feel constricted and just don't feel like me so given this looks great I'm wondering if its something else that is bothering you?

First up, I really like this jacket!

I have a denim jacket almost exactly the same as this and really love pairing it either with dresses or skirts.

My personal favourite look is when I pair it with a shift type dress in a block colour - it creates a lovely uninterrupted vertical line and the jacket gives extra shape. My second favourite is to wear it with an a type line skirt with a nipped in waist as a retro 1950's type look.

Maybe one of these ideas may be of interest to you?

I missed this thread yesterday, so I'm late here, but I wanted to chime in anyway. First of all - you have a terrific jacket there. It is basic, which is a splendid thing in my book, because it is pretty timeless. The fit is perfect, as already stated by the boss:) I really love how you've styled it already, particularly in #2, (also stated many times already, but a good thing...).

You've seen my thread with denim and dresses/skirts, and I guess it is a bit different to wear denim jackets like that than paired with jeans. To me, a pair of tight jeans would be problematic to wear with a fitted, cropped denim jacket, too, since I would feel too body conscious and my pear tendencies would be enhanced. I suggest working with the silhouette, no matter if you wear pants or skirts. A roomier fit at the bottom plays very well against the smoother fit on top. Do you have any baggy boyfriend jeans or tapered pants? I also suggest trying to wear the same color under the jacket as in your pants (unless they are denim, of course). Try the turtleneck or another fitted top in matching color, that gorgeous belt, wider pants, and I think you'll find that your shape is enhanced in a very good way! You DO have a very nice one.
