What's wrong with Denim Jackets this season?

Hello! Addicted participant speaking! Ok, so my creamy trench is super sweet, and fab, and creamy. And it gets dirty in that lovely way creamy jackets get dirty: fast and non-stop. So I think I need another jacket. I was looking for something more casual (for cons and my flashy Nike trainers) and thought about the always trendy denim jacket. BUT of course, I always go for it at the inappropriate season. Denim Jackets this year are awfully short. ALL of them. In every single shop I've looked. And I commented on it at MANGO, and the shop assistant said many people had complained about it, so I'm not alone in this one. Denim jackets this season look on me very tight (and they are my size because they fit the shoulders) and end around my belly button, maybe a bit lower. No kidding. If it weren't for the top underneath, there would be a visible patch of skin showing, and my jeans are low-rise, ok, but not that low. Have you encountered the same issues? I know you guys can't recommend me any shops because I'm from Spain, but I just wanted to complain (lol). I may go thrifting, although that's not very usual in Spain but, who knows, right?

Also, what would be the ideal wash? Most of my jeans are dark denim or semi-dark, and I also have a pair of black jeans and white capris.

That one looks really good! Pitty they don't ship internationally. Levi's is a pretty expensive shop in Europe so I don't think I can get it there. It could be around 100-120 USD... yeah, it is THAT expensive.

Have you tried a cropped one, though? I know the concept can be hard to get used to, but it is a fresher, more modern look and it might grow on you.

I love the trucker. If I didn't already have THREE denim jackets, I'd order it.
My best two were both thrifted, actually. One is Calvin Klein, the other is Gap. My thrift stores are full of 'em.

Wish I'd have known, and gifted my Levi trucker to you instead of tossing it earlier in the year. I found it too boxy

April: I like cropped ones with dresses but with jeans I'm not so sure... I think I'll try anyway. I've seen some pretty cheap ones that may serve as a trial.

airin, I searched long and hard for a lightwash, fitted denim jacket and FINALLY found a brand new classic Eddie Bauer jacket at Goodwill for $4.75. Check out the local thrift shops and consignment stores. You may find the perfect jacket there.

Airin, actually this is how I prefer denim jackets - cropped and fitted. I find they are more modern looking, especially with dresses and skirts. However I mostly use them as jackets and not outerwear so it may be different for you...

Sveta, I like the look with dresses, but not so much with tops and jeans. Besides, short jackets are all the rage this year, but who knows what will happen in three years time. And I like wearing them as outerwear during springtime and autumn, and summer nights. Moreover, I have a short body, big boobs, broad shoulders and a slim waist, cropped tight jackets accentuate that too much lol It looks like I'm wearing a corset instead of a simple sweet denim jacket!

I bought one at Esprit last year and it looks like a similar cut to the trucker. Esprit ships to many countries including Canada and Spain. When I bought it, I was a bit concerned because the moto jacket was still going strong and I was going against the trend but I found the length and cut worked with a lot of different outfits.
