What's worth buying at Target?

Hi everyone,

I am so excited about the upcoming weekend. We’re going to visit my in-laws in the US, and that means I get to go to Target! I’ve always loved Target for home stuff and toiletries but have never bought much there in the way of clothes, shoes or accessories. What I have bought I haven’t been too happy with quality-wise, and I’m a little hesitant because, not living in the states, I can’t just easily return things. But I figure those of you who have easy access to Target must find some fab stuff there. I know there are lots of designer brands there; are there any particular standouts? What about Target’s house brands - are they any good? I’m in the market for a colourful spring bag – are the bags decent quality? Please let me know what you buy at Target!

Sounds like a good trip!

I am a Target shopper but honestly I have never bought a bag there. You might find one though if you like vegan-man made materials in your bags or maybe a summery tote.
You can find cute accessories - scarves, sunglasses in that area.

For clothes, I look for fun, of the moment colors in tops and tanks. They have a lot of color right now and not so much in the designer co-brand area since Jason Wu sold out in a flash.
Quality is not bad for the price on ts and tanks. Actually my black skinny jeans are Merona which is a house brand. I have a white denim jacket from them too from last year.

I have a couple of dresses from Target's house brands Merona and Mossimo- love them! And they have a wonderful scarf collection. I'd say handbag quality is so-so. It just depends on how you intend to use them.

Scarves, sunglasses, belts. Check out their clothing too--Merona and Mossimo are nice and reasonably priced.

I am wearing a cute belted sheer conversation print bird blouse today. I like the lined mossimo pencil skirts too.

I rarely shop at Target because it's all the way on the other side of town and not in my normal driving "loop." That said, the last time I was over there, I found some great Converse shoes and cotton camisoles (for wearing underneath button-down shirts) for my daughters.

Im not a fan of Target clothes, but--as summer is coming--you can find cute, summery things, at times. Generally, the quality is such that clothes are not going to last more than one season but--if you shop with that in mind--you can have some fun.

I recently bought 2 "shrugs" there for about $17 each. One black and one grey. Very soft cotton blend. I also routinely buy cat food there. It's the cheapest place in town!

I try to be very careful when buying clothes at Target because quality and fit are often questionable. That said, I have bought various Merona and Mossimo brands items, maybe one every 2-3 months or so, when I found something that fit well.

Here is a collage of some of the Target items bought over the last year. Denim jacket ($25), orange t-shirt ($7, recent purchase), polka dot black scarf ($12, recent), dress ($34), cowl neck ($22).

Thanks guys! It looks like I'll focus on accessories, stay away from bags, and maybe buy a few summery/trendy clothing items

Good tank tops and tees. Fun jewelry, belts tights, and sunglasses. I always browse the shoe selection just in case. Last summer, I found my best swimsuit yet.
