What's With the Wacky Whiskers????

I just received the blue Kut from the Kloth skinnies from the NAS sale, and I have to say, I kind of like them. The fabric is nice - rather soft, and I think the size 6 will stretch out enough to be comfy. The rise is lower than I'm used to, but they don't seem to gape much in the back, which is great.

But they have those horrible whiskers right up front. Why? Why? I do not get the point of this. It's like a bunch of little arrows pointing my hips saying "Look here! See how big they are!!!" I just don't like the look at all, especially for - Maya, cover your ears - especially for my age.

However, I will probably wear skinnies with a longer tunic/jacket anyway. So the whiskers may be covered up. And the price of these pants is good. I'm not sure it's worth it for me to spend $$$ for premium denim on something I may not wear all the time. Still, I really hate those whiskers. Any advice?

I feel the same way about that whiskering. It seemed like it was hard to find solid skinnies without it last year, but I am seeing more of that this year. I ended up buying some Levi's jeggings that are completely solid, but they were also on clearance. I think you should return them and keep looking.

I just got mine today and I didn't notice whiskers. Perhaps I was more concerned about my rear view and didn't notice the front.
I vote keep as you'll most likely be wearing them with longer tops.

It seems easier to find jeans without excessive whiskering and bleaching within most premium denim brands. I have a few jeans with very subtle whiskering, but most are uniform in color.

I don't even like how it looks. I know it's supposed to give jeans a lovingly worn in look, but it never works out that way. It just looks like someone drew lines with a bleach pen.

I got the same ones you did. And I tried them on again and yes, saw the whiskers but honestly thought it was quite subtle. I really like the fit. they are a bit snug in the waist, but I'm working on shedding this 5 pounds that seemed to have found temporary residence on my hips and thighs

I hate the whiskering, too! I understand they are going for a "worn in" look but it just looks so fake! Like Maya said...lined in with a beach pen.

I returned three pair of Kut from Kloth jeans to Nordstroms a couple of years ago because each pair arrived with extreme whiskering even though the saleperson promised that this brand didn't have that. At that point, I crossed them off my list as a brand of choice even though the price was right.

I'm with you on the whiskering. I bought a pair of Kuts last fall at the store without it. This spring I ordered the white and another pair of blue. The blue denim arrived with obvious whiskers and were returned.
I was thinking of ordering the black pair. Do they also have whiskering?

Joy - the black ones do not have whiskers. The fabric isn't quite as lovely and soft, but it's not bad. Worth trying since they're part of NAS.

I vote embrace the whiskers on these jeans. There is nothing wrong with this level of whiskering, FWIW.

I agree that whiskers on jeans are a problem. Often they are too prominent. But if I tried to find only non-whiskered jeans, I would probably only have black jeans. They seem to be everywhere!

I tried the KUT jeans in black in this post and they have no whiskers.
