What's Up with That - weather edition

We're having the wettest summer I can remember. It's rained all but 10 days this month so far and we haven't had a dry stretch of more than 3 days. I'm wondering when we became a suburb of Seattle!

And we on the converse, are having a very and worryingly dry June in my part of Australia (which gets most of its rainfall in winter)

Sounds like you've got our summer and we've got yours!! We've had at least a week of straight sunshine which is unheard of for a UK summer x

Ahem....Seattle has the BEST Summers. No rain at all. Perfect warm sunny days, no humidity and it stays light till 10pm.And there isn't actually that much rain. London has more rain. But it's very grey for a lot of the year. And cool.

Hope the rain stops in your neck of the woods though!

We're having really odd weather for us at the moment, too. It's such a mild summer so far. Not that I'm complaining- it's still hitting low 90's, but we've only had one triple digit day so far.

Dusty, how hot has it been? Rain in the summer is never much fun (though I am looking forward to our monsoons here in Tucson!), but it helps when it's at least kinda warm.

Angie is quite correct - summers in Seattle are the BEST! I'm really hoping we can get away from the Tucson heat and visit my family this summer...

We are just getting the sun here, Portland/Vancouver area has been very wet and gray until just last week. I have hardly been able to wear any of my fun warm weather stuff until now.

Send the rain to Virginia please. We have had triple digits or close to it, for two weeks with nasty humidity and no rain. Seattle sounds heavenly right now!

Like Joan, I wish we were getting rain:( After a very wet autumn, snowy winter, and wet spring, it's been very dry lately. And HOT! We've hit at least 100° here the last 3 out of 5 days. That combined with the high humidity is oppressive. The animals are miserable, the grass is brown and crunchy underfoot and we're hiding out inside.

Thankfully, temps are supposed to moderate this week. Now we just need moisture!

Dusty, we recently experienced some version of this in San Francisco. Our rainy season usually lasts from November-April and wraps up by early May. This year though, it lasted well into June, which had everyone puzzled and frustrated. We didn't want to complain because California has been in a drought for the past 3 years and we needed the rain, but oh my, the rain became tiresome!

Now we seem to be settling into our typical cool, gray, foggy pattern for the summer. San Francisco is fogged in for much of July and August, though the cities to the north, south and east of us tend to have beautiful warm, sunny weather. Here in SF proper though, it's like something out of a noir film for much of the summer. You almost expect Humphrey Bogart to emerge from the fog in his trenchcoat and fedora at every turn!

Is hot,hot,hot in London at the moment! But we have had a cool and wet May and June, so it is making up for it hopefully. I love it when it is hot and sunny because I love to see all the sun dresses that women and girls sport in the UK to keep cool.

It's been hot. Upper 80's/lower 90's all but a handful of days this month (and yeah, I know that it gets way hotter in Arizona, but we're talking 90% humidity here, even when it's not raining).
