Prostitutes. We were in Honolulu about 7-8 years ago and my friend's younger son commented on the pretty girls with the clear shoes who must be rich because they all had really nice phones. That has stuck with me since and every time I see the clear lucite heeled shoes, I think of it.

Laughing at all the comments, especially @Dianthus because I know exactly where those girls were in Honolulu (usually in front of the police station or in front of the Princess Kaiulani Hotel)
