What's STILL on Your Fall Wishlist

Even though we still have months of summer weather left here, I am really thinking about fall/winter. I'm sure that as time goes on, my wishlist will change- but it's already forming in my head. I am realizing that I still have several items from last year (or the year before) that I want to find-

cognac knee high boots

fuzzy vest

flat oxfords

Which items have been on your list since last fall or longer? Or have things fallen off your list?

Flat oxfords... maybe if they ever show up in wide sizes. Other than that I am not really looking for anything specific at this point. We still have several months of extremely hot weather. I may change my tune once the real cold weather starts in Jan or Feb.

My favorite cognac boots are the Target Kachiri. They are real leather, fit my wide calf and they are only $50!! Love them boots! I liked them so much I got them in two colors.

Like you, I still have months of summer to get through before I can think about fall.
But of the things I know for sure, I need:

Replace Gap Really Skinny pants (with the same ones, or something different...they're just worn to the ground)

Sleeker black boots (my only ones are scrunchy)

Black shirtdress (I have one in mind, but it reallyreally needs to go on sale)

I'm sure things will pop up, like sweaters etc but these have been on my list for awhile.

Something new that popped up are the mustard yellow wool crop pants at JCrew. They also need to go on sale.

I would LOVE to find:

* cognac knee high boots
* a soft sweater jacket that is not frumpy
* short jacket/coat that is fab not frumpy

These are the most elusive:
- Red non-patent, non-peep-toe, covered-heel, platform pumps at a good price
- The Perfect red wool coat
- The Perfect citron/chartreuse scarf/hood

I was lucky to find my cognac boots this spring but I still have a leather jacket on the wish list. It's been 5 years now, so that's a recurring item. I'm sure the trouble is my budget vs what I like I'm going to have to someday forego other goodies to plunk down some $$$ for a jacket I really love.

I have had these two items on my Winter wish list forever:

- Dressy cream low heeled knee-high boots

- Tomato red knee-length coat

And I am always looking for blouses and knitwear because I am very hard to please in that department.

I'll be building almost from the ground up, post weight-loss. So I'll have to set some priorities. Shoes, for one. Believe it or not, I haven't owned a decent pair of fall/winter not-especially-dressy shoes (as opposed to boots) for YEARS. Mostly because I haven't found the combination of fit/comfort/style that will work for me, but partly because I was such a minimalist that I imagined I should be able to get by with ONE pair of shoes for all circumstances that weren't super-dress up or boot-worthy. And never could find that pair. I now understand that it is really okay to treat myself to a couple of pairs of shoes.

So...shoes...a new and stylish winter coat that is not a puffer...preferably red or navy. Several woven blouses or shirts. A cropped jacket in some interesting colour. Probably can't afford all of these this year, but I'll be on the lookout.

I'm really over summer and thinking about Fall/Winter.
I'm still considering new silhouettes for winter but already have a longish list.

Still on my list from previous years:

Cognac knee high boots
Non black long sleeved dress.

Needs:

Warm styllish boots
Light weight blouses to wear under my vest and cropped jacket

Wants:

Trouve shrunken blazer
Black skinnies
cape(maybe the GUESS one)

I am enjoying our summer weather so much that I really don't even want to think about fall or winter. I just want summer to last year round. HowEVER, if I am forced to think about what I would put on my list, it would be a black leather jacket, a teal/turquoise handbag, a red handbag, and cream boots. Unless things change dramatically in the economics department of our household, none of these items will come home to live with me this winter!

Still on the list from last year are:
* grey (or possibly red or cobalt) wool coat that's knee length with a revere collar and a bit fitted so that it doesn't require a belt.
* a sweater dress that's not grey or black and knee length
* light grey leather boots with low heels that aren't suede or Western and fit a 13" calf or are booties.
Knit long-sleeved top in cobalt
* In addition, I've craving some navy, warm brown (maybe camel), and olive items.

Great thread, love looking at other people's lists for ideas. Yes, we have a couple months of hot weather left as well, it'll get into Autumn sometime in October. I need my list revisited and taken care of because I'll be already in Fall climate in about 1 month- going to Europe and they've been having temps in the mid 60's to 70's and rainy for a while! But I hope it'll warm up, I definitely need to address my Fall wardrobe holes:

*comfortable everyday 'dressy smart' flats that won't kill my fussy feet, so far I tried the Ara Bella (courtesy of barkingdogshoes blog) but they are not that comfy. I found a pair of the highly spoken of AGL brown ballet flats on sale for 99 so I hope they'll work out!

*few cardigans as I always lack in that department and am very picky, basics like leggings and layering tops (I don't wear camis or tanks in summer) so I need to get some for layering under the cardis. Some scarves.

*dark denim jacket, the one I have is a little big.

I do have knee high cognac boots (Miz Mooz King) that I loove from last winter, and a pair of black boots and a pair of short black booties, seems like I'm all set in the winter boot department!

I would love a colorful wool coat. Maybe tomato red? But the price would have to be right.

ETA: Gasp, love those Clarks! I bet they are so comfortable...

I would really like to find:

*a pair of sleek, chic, mid height heel (2 1/2 in), dressy shooties (like the blue suede ones)
*a couple more long sleeve blouses
*a couple of cold weather sweaters that don't make me look like the michelin man
*animal print pumps (have some on order :-)... we'll see what my feet say!
*a new bag... I'll probably use birthday money

and I won't actively search for, but if I stumble upon them...

On my list:
black ankle boots
black knee-high boots (eternally on the list, sigh, thanks long legs and chunky calves)
brown boots
black ponte skinnies or similar
white knit top with short sleeves, nicer than a t-shirt
white button-front shirt

I think that's it, thankfully, but I won't know for sure until I pull out my fall clothes in September-ish.

Great minds must think alike.

Since last fall, I have been looking for:

* the perfect knee-high cognac boot
* the just-right knee-length wool coat
* handbag that sings to me, that's not black

And since December, I have been looking for the perfect cropped leather jacket. I had really hoped to find it at NAS, but it just wasn't meant to be.

I really have a ton of needs this year, so many of my "wants" are going to have to sit on the sideline (probably many of my perceived "needs" too, unless I become employed somewhere decent soon!). I'm joining the workforc (hopefully!) and have been on a 2+ year SYC, so my already small casual wardrobe was pretty decimated too. I have two pair of casual jeans in good shape, my version of a puffer, and some gear-type shoes. Everything else is in "rag" to "halfway gone" condition. I have a couple of warm weather dresses and a pair of dressy/casual wedge sandals that are ok too (but I live somewhere with a very significant fall and winter).

Currently I am concentrating on UNDERWEAR. I need to purchase 3 new bras and at least 14 pairs of new undies. Socks and tights could use some updating.

I also need INTERVIEW wear. That means a suit or a pair of slacks or pencil in a nice fabrication to wear with a couple of blouses or button fronts. Also, need closed toe shoes or boots to wear.

BOOTS-- at least one pair that I can wear in small amounts of snow without destroying-- I have heavy duty snowboots and waterproof hikers taken care of. I would love more than one--- either something lace up and something pull on, something high or mid calf and something ankle, or something really rugged and something more dressy.

I need to find a PURSE or BAG to replace my coed-looking backpack.

I also need LAYERING Ts, TOPS that can go to WORK, SWEATERS or JACKETS for work and at least one more pair of JEANS (something DRESSIER, DARKER, SKINNY maybe?).

STYLEwise I'm still craving---

I'm too impatient to carry over wishes from year to year. But I thrift shop so I don't
have to. Here is something I really am craving. Saw a version in plaid perhaps on
a blogger and I love this version that I wonder if I can engineer myself from a
thrifted shirt. Even if I were willing to make an investment in clothing, I'm much too
fickle in my desires to want to do so.
