What's Forever 21 like?

I was having a look at Forever 21 online...they have so many cute sale items.
Is the quality absolutely terrible or is it ok?

I don't mind if it doesn't lasty forever given the price...but don't want things that look cheap, are cut strangely or fall apart after one wear.

I'm from Australia so want to know if it's worth ordering online and paying postage or not?

I purchased a Beatles T at my local Forever 21 to wear as part of a MOTG ensemble. It's held up pretty well. I wouldn't call them extremely high quality, but for a $10 T-shirt, definitely worth the investment.

A lot of it is junky, but they have different lines in their store. Their 'Love 21' line and 'twelve by Twelve' lines are much better in my opinion, particularly the 'Love 21' line which is described as being a more 'modest' fit. I just find that it is more adult. I have several things from that line and I really like them. I have a couple dresses, a couple shirts and I also have several necklaces and sunglasses from just their regular line. I would compare the quality to INC by Macy's or some of Target's Merona stuff. Honestly, like Sarah said it is not couture but for the price it should at least last the season.

Definitely check out the Love 21 section! Also, in everything but the Love 21 line, I have to size UP for sure! Love 21 I find I can wear my regular sizes. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I'm not a regular F21 shopper, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but honestly I can't see paying overseas shipping fees for their stuff.

I agree with Queenie... I don't think it's wise to invest overseas shipping fees on Forever 21 clothes. Nordstrom would be a better store to import from.

I'd say the more "complex" an item is, the more you notice the quality issues. A cotton t-shirt is fine from F21. (Probably one of the few cotton items you'll find there.) However, something like dress pants or a party dress that requires good fabric and a tailored fit, you will notice the cheap polyester and simple cuts of their clothing. Basically, they serve their purpose for cheap, trendy items that you need for a season but not investment pieces. Honestly, with the cost of shipping and importing, I'd stick to investment pieces.

Forever 21 gets a bad reputation for quality, but those people usually have the money to spend on something better. I and most of my peers do not, so we shop there happily. However, whatever you would save is going to end up being cancelled out by the shipping costs, so I don't know if it's really worth it for you. With any budget retailer, you have to be able to see, feel, and try on the garment in order to know if you're getting something shabby or something chic. Some of their clothes are -bad-, even for the low price point. Others are perfectly well made and only an industry insider would know the difference. There is really no way to know just by shopping online though, so I would say pass and save yourself the trouble of shipping/return shipping.

I purchase trendy items from F21, or costume jewelry, etc. I realize it won't last forever, but with my weight changes I really don't mind buying "disposable" clothing. Especially trendy items.
Would I pay shipping? Probably not, but I do have a local store so I get a few things now and again.

Their quality is really hit and miss, so it probably isn't worth the price of international shipping.

I shop at Forever 21 quite frequently and I've found their quality to be usually good for the price. I think their quality has definitely improved over the last few years.

I don't care too much for most of the stuff in F21, but their Love21 line has been pretty great for me. I have bought a few silk tops from there that I really like, but I don't expect them to last forever. I agree that if you're buying from oversees, it might be wise to pick another store. But on the other hand, place a small order and see how you like it, you won't lose much, right?

I've only ever bought a couple of items from there (instore, not online), but have found their quality to be very decent, especially for the price. There's a blouse I bought in 2005 that I still wear all the time and its held up well. Last year I bought a big handbag for $20 that I cart all my stuff to work with. I thought it would die within a few months, but again it has held up well. I'm so surprised.

If I loved something online I know I'd give it a go. I never look at their website though, so the chances of that happening are small How much do they charge for international shipping though??
