Gigi - I think that's how I've used the term. For me, I've seen a wildcard as something with an element of risk. Although in my head, my definition has been 'unexpected with regard to one's style.' But, eg, I bought some OTK boots and couldn't say they are stylistically out of my realm - yet I felt they were a wildcard.
Not a great success, btw, the boots. They're not up to the stress of the amount of walking I do. Although, hard to tell since I'm wearing just sneakers, combat boots and crocs right now because of my foot injury...
