What would you wear with this jacket?.... help!

Ok, so today I went shopping and I am an impulsive shopper .... especially if it has a bit of a sparkle, glitter or sequin to it... and in a cheapy well known store here in the uk, Primark, I found this waterfall plisse jacket in the sale.

I would describe it as a rose gold kinda colour, it has a slight metallic look to it but that could just be the satin plisse fabric.

So now I've got it home I'm like what the heck do I wear with it?? It is calf length and non lined. I'm very tall so I get away with long length coats.

I'm more a casual dresser, but smart casual.

Hit me with some inspiration please.

I'd wear a column of color. Either black or white.

White straight legged trousers, white v-neck tee, and white shoes.

Wow, it's so beautiful and elegant!

I agree with Thistle - wearing it with a column of colour is a good idea. Let the jacket be the star of the outfit.

However, I think the column could be in a variety of colours. For instance, if you want to dress down, you could wear the jacket with blue jeans and a similar blue top or T-shirt.

I'll build on both of the previous ideas and suggest a column of color, and I'm thinking olive or gray would offset the color nicely.

I would try the column of color, and also to shake things up a bit try Skinny jeans and a simple white or gray shell(tank) in a luxe fabric.

I agree with the column of color...navy or any blue, brown or taupe, greys. This piece may be hard to dress down, but you could try denim.

Oh. My. Goodness. That is gorgeous. I have nothing to add to the Column of Color chorus, except Column of Very Little Color--that jacket is destined to be the star.

Oh, that's a gorgeous jacket! I'd recommend a column of colour, too (black or white or cream, especially), and maybe a few long necklaces. It lends itself to "smart casual", IMO, and I imagine that after you wear it a few times and get comfortable with it, it will be a workhorse!

That's spectacular. Boy, I feel I could wear that with anything. A column of colour - any colour. Jeans and a tee, for a high low look. Boots, sneakers, pumps. I probably wouldn't wear ballet flats, tho.

Thank you everyone. Some great ideas, I had a complete brain blank once I got it home so all your ideas will be taken on board.

It was very cheap so if I only wear it a couple of times I will have had my monies worth, in English it was £10 which equates to about $13 in American money. It was on sale so would have normally retailed at twice that ... but in the UK we tend to have more throw away fashion than longevity with clothes these days.

Cropped denim jeans and a white tshirt or white button down shirt.
As suggested, a column of colour (i would go with black).
I would keep everything pretty simple as the jacket is a lovely statement.
Dressy you could wear a simple black dress that is a little shorter than t the coat and heels.
Layer a long (but not as long) sleeveless vest over it! That could look amazing!

As usual agree with Rachylou. You can get away with so many things especially being tall I would have some shorts and wear with that I'm sorry I denim shorts. I would wear some palazzo pants and a tank and rock the heck out of that. I can see that dress up elegantly I can see some leggings and a patterned top something form-fitting or something loose. I can also see adults and worn as a dress. Very very pretty.
