Just letting you all know that PayPal made this right, even though the retailer wouldn't budge. (The retailer refused even to respond to PayPal's requests for information, and therefore PayPal required them to refund the full price of the missing shipment.)

That is a great update! Annoying that you had to put in all the legwork to get the money back, but at least it's case closed now.
