Please, check the rearview in teal. This is what I discovered after thinking 'hmmm, those look nice!'. What a fantastic way of ruining a pair of well fitting pants in a gorgeous color and at an excelent price!

With a tunic? they look like a stretchy fabric, I wouldn't wear them with a short top anyway!

Somehow they looked like real pants on me, not like on the model (they look like leggings on that photo). I also recall real front pockets, but the zipper is exactly the same.

too funny at the reaction....these types of slacks have been big in scandanavia for a good year now. So I guess H&M is following local trend. They are absolutely only the teens stores selling them though...although the exposed zipper, in general, is super trendy in our neck of the woods.

I like it. The exposed application is a little saucy but the back zipper in pants is what Jax of Beverly Hills used to create very close fitting pants and capris that showed up the rear.
Jax did not use stretch and lined their pants.

One problem with pants is that sometimes the construction gives monobutt and I'm thinking the zipper there could possibly avert that if done right.

I don't mind the look, although sure to invite funny comments. But what concerns me is sitting down. That has got to be unpleasant.

Awkward. It only bugs me because it is an inch or two too long. A little shorter and it wouldn't seem so...odd.

OK, this reminds me (cue 'walk down memory lane' music):

When I was a young teen, Dittos were popular. Similar in a highlighting-the-tush way (see photo)...My mom wouldn't let me wear them. (In retrospect: Thanks, Mom!) I also remember one of the more flashy girls wearing jeans with a zipper that went from the rear waistband all the way under and up to the front waistband. Oy!

Okay, further walk down memory lane, these are totally tame compared to our full zip around Rag City Blues we'd wear in high school. They actually came completely apart in the wash ><

I have never been much of a fan of down-the-middle, obvious back seaming, whether it is on pants, swimwear, dresses or skirts. Highlighting one's bum is perfectly acceptable if it is an area one wants to show off, but highlighting one's crack is just... well, almost as crass as the language I've just used. But given current and past trends, perhaps I just have a poison eye for the look, so my opinion doesn't count.

Wow, I have never heard of either the zip-around jeans or the Dittos, but man... those cannot be at all comfortable.

My husband would probably like them, though....
