Blazers. I had two existing that got minimal wear - nice pieces, I liked them, but they felt a bit formal for my very casual style. But I've realized that they sub for a sweater on colder days. I also have gained some weight around the middle (carrying it a bit differently than when I was younger, so it's an adjustment), and I realized that blazers, worn open, are pretty forgiving of this in fit, camouflage both the weight and resulting slighly tight fit of the clothes underneath, and give me back some of the waist I'm missing. I've added another blazer this winter and have my eye out for more.
I also bought an oatmeal turtleneck on clearance, to push my boundaries a bit. I have never worn oatmeal before and I don't generally wear solid white, cream, stone etc, all of which there is a ton of this winter. Oatmeal turns out to be my white and it refreshed some existing outfits. Then it shrank in the dryer. I can't eve really wear it under a blazer (see above) because of dreaded horizontal boob line.
