Yay for caftans! They are great summer wear. And I am always ready for a revisit of the pearl choker trend. I personally would love to see a big return of paisley print.
Gosh, Deb, since when are berets out? No one told me!! I love them. I also love twin sets. I do like them updated cropped v necked cardi, maybe a square neck shell - but I think they are fabulously versatile especially in a silk mix. Well long equestrian blazers are big on my wishlist. I'd like to see more mens wear style overcoats coat. Do you remember button covers? I had some in sterling and they were really fantastic and elegant. Long Leather trench coats - the matrix and marlene dietrich all rolled up into one would be great too!! Bolero jackets - dressy. They are great for that formal wear capsule when you need to add a little bit more dressy. The've been off the grid recently.
Waistcoats! Is that a vest? Because if not, more cool edgy menswear vests and also greatcoats and dusters. I guess I have a longer list than I thought.
Of those mentioned, Pearl chokers and the beret appeal to me. But I tend to agree with Isabel and Caro, we seem to be in time where anything goes and we are no longer beholden to 'trends'. Of course availability can be a challenge but the internet is a great tool for tracking down specific style.
And for those of you wanting to welcome Kaftan's back into your wardrobe, we have a wonderful designer here who made her name designing beautiful kaftans.
Ooohhhh, ooohhh seconding Una - yes jodphurs. Do you know you can't even get real riding jods in adult sizes? I know because I've tried. It's all riding tights now - blargh!!! Love the waistcoats too. I have three and will never give them up but could use more. Also, and I know many will hate this, can I have bodysuits? stay put, no panty lines, heavy fabric. So great to have a few nice ones. Also low heeled granny boots (my pair is getting a bit fun down but they are sooooooooooooooooooo cool!!
Hee, I loved square necklines--on dresses and long-sleeve tees. Actually, in high school, I had a black square-neck short-sleeve tee that I also loved.
Just about never see those anymore [hey...there are a few, hmm. Including at places like Orvis. Not the most fashion-forward place to shop, LOL.]
I liked some of those of the link and didn't realise they weren't in (ie berets and pearl chokers!) And I love twin sets.
Gyffin I have a soft spot for the body suit too!
Full dirndl skirts like the Yves St. Laurent Russian show from 1976. The images from this show were seared into my 16 year old brain! I've always wanted a fox fur Cossack hat, too!

I second the grannie/victorian boots, go go boots, menswear/fit and flared/long coats (I want one like BBC sherlock). Matrix leather trenches, and waistcoats.
Also I like ruffly blouses a la male Victorian poets and French revolutionaries. The kind of thing that would look good with ink stains on the cuffs..... and a waistcoat
Capes, especially long swishy velvet ones for evening, worn with long gloves. I wore mine to the formal balls in my first year of university. With my upswept 'do, I felt like I was straight out of Doctor Zhivago.
