What to wear with Talbots Blooming Flower Eyelet Skirt

Since I'm not an active member yet I can't add a picture....but I need advice on what to wear with this cute skirt in green. Talbots shows it with a navy polka dot blouse. I love the skirt...so cute.

It would depend on the floral I think - it was the right intensity and not too "pretty" it could be fun - I would then make sure the shoes weren't too dainty- you might need a pointy pump or something a little edgy. Does that make sense?

I personally would wear it with a shirt or knit in white or blue or pink - maybe yellow? I would wear with either block heel sandals or wedges or maybe pointed pumps....

Welcome! I like the skirt. I think you could wear a floral blouse with it but it would depend on the pattern and material. I'd think of the skirt as just having a lacy texture and find tops that worked well with the color and provided a texture contrast. I'd experiment with pairing it with white, navy or ink, cobalt or softer blues, blush or pale peach or pink. Possibly even pale lavender.

Thanks so much rabbit and Kiwigirl...wonderful suggestions. I have many of those suggestions in my closet already. Since I've been lurking on the site I don't feel nearly so fashion impaired as I use to. Now that I've discovered the forum I'm going to purge my closet. It's a great skirt! I think the blouse you have already would be lovely with it. Other things that come to mind are a fluid open-weave knit, a white shirt, some classic stripes. Or how about a high-low hem silk tee with some colour blocking? I love the idea of wedge sandals as Kiwigal said, or what about some ankle strap pumps, or you could dress it down with white fashion sneeks and a textured raglan sleeve sweater.
