What to wear with linen skirt?

I bought this linen "woodgrain" print skirt at overstock:

And although I love it because the print and details are such standouts, I am having a hard time finding tops that work with it. White is out because the linen is just far off enough from white to look dirty up against true white. The very nice lady at my local fabric shop suggested dark blue and purple, and I think she may be on the right track.

What do you think? Can the purple top work with this skirt, or should I wait until I can find a top in navy? Or do you think some other color entirely would be better? Also, should I switch out the cami to a purple one? Any suggestions on jewelry?

Don't worry about the thread! I think most people read from the recent conversations tab anyway.

I was unsure about the purple top. It seemed so dark compared to the light of the top. But I am not great with colour suggestions and I am sure someone else will have one.
I thought the shorter length of the top looked better

I think the skirt is so neutral you could wear it with just about any color. Yellow would be my first choice. I really like yellow and grey together. Maybe a strong saffron yellow so that it doesn't compete with the cream. Try any bright and summery tops you have, and see how that looks.

Whatever color you choose, I definitely think it should be tucked or short enough to show off the folded effect at the top.

Oh, Traci's yellow and grey suggestion sounds lovely. My first thought was dove grey and red.

Tucked is definitely better! But I agree that other colors might be better than the purple. The skirt is very pretty and summery, which makes me think light colors might be nice. What about pink? Or orange?

I like the purple pairing but the skirt reminds me of summer. I like yellow, orange, softer purple, softer pink, softer blue, I think the skirt is a neutral that will go with lots of colors. I prefer the shorter top for length.
