What to wear wine tasting?

I'm going to a wine tasting after work on Thursday. Any suggestions as what to wear?

I live and work in Napa Valley and it depends. Are you doing a walking tour or a personal tasting or formal event? I would say generally speaking dress yuppy casual for a general wine tasting or tour.

It's just at a local wine shop with an activity group that I'm a member of. Normally pretty casual.

These are some of my favorites of yours, although maybe it'd be a good idea to switch out the white tops to something darker...just in case wine got splashed around

I would wear an interesting top since when sitting that will get more attention than what you wear on the bottom half of your outfit. I also tend to focus on my hands in these sorts of situations since they get noticed when doing stuff like drinking cocktails or wine. I paint my nails with a fun nail polish and wear rings or bracelets.

I always use the excuse of going out to wear a dress or a skirt so I might opt for that. Something casual but fun. Though I really love the looks Amy posted with the printed jeans. Have fun!

I love those printed jeans on you, but I agree that white may be a mistake,if, like me, you are prone to spilling things on yourself.

I was going to suggest something really warm and flat boots. Wine tasting here is a rough sport--we're usually tromping around the wineries and it is cold, wet and muddy! For a wine shop get together, I've only ever seen people dressing casually. Dress as your usual smart self. Maybe a darker outfit to hide wine spills or any wine you pick up on your sleeves from others spilling.

Mmm if the wine tasting is indoors, there's a good chance it'll get WARM in there so make sure you've got a layer than can come off if needed! I can't imagine any of our wineries doing outside tastings at this time of year. I'd vote something that runs smart-casual and veers towards the dressy end, just because I wore white to the last wine tasting I was at and miraculously came away unscathed (and you've seen how much I flail), so it can be done but something more mid-toned might be better. That said, I just LOVE the first outfit Amy posted!
