what to wear to superbowl block party?

hi ladies,

my dear friend invited me to a superbowl block party in 2 weeks. since i am newly 'single and ready to mingle', she is prepping to help me jump into the world of eligible men here are a few stats:

--SF
--medical residences/professionals
--need to walk a block from her apt to the party
--want to look casual and feminine

my usual SF cold weather uniform tends to be:
--knee high low heel boots
--patterned tights + solid jersey dress OR
--plain tights + patterned jersey dress
--earrings
--scarf/coat/crossbody bag

what should i wear that 1) keeps me warm yet also 2) feminine and attractive?

i anticipate lots of eating, drinking, lounging on couches, walking, chatting and who knows, practicing flirting again (OMG).

any tips (on fashion or flirting!) please do share. my skin is still riddled with acne after all the breakup stress, so getting back to normal is imperative!

hhmmm, maybe i should finally buy a mirror and show you my dress options, that would take a lot of guess work out of it...

Hmm, do you have any stake in one team or another winning? I'm imagining a variation on one of the MOTG formulas, with your graphic tee being that of your team. Provided it fits you well, of course. Then either cute jeans or a denim skirt with your tights+boots.

Or perhaps select your tights and scarf to make up the team colors, and go with a plain jersey dress and a fun jacket?

I don't think that you should wear a dress. I think that might send the wrong message to a guy....he might think, " Really, she came to a football block party in a dress ? " I think that at a football party, men don't want a woman that may seem "precious"

Do you have a pair of skinny ponte pants ? You could wear tights underneath to keep warm ( like the great fleece tights that Angie wrote about ) and this would allow you to wear your boots ( wear double socks). I love the accessories....I also like the idea of a flannel/plaid tunic with ruffles ( outdoorsy but feminine and in pretty colors ). A game might break out and you may want to join in !

I agree with Isabel. I think a ponte knit pants with layered tights would work well, or perhaps skinny jeans that you could tuck into the boots.

I agree that a dress might not be your best option. To me, it would send a message that you are *only* looking for a date, not just a fun get-together where hopefully you'll meet someone who interests you...just try and relax, make eye contact and smile!
