What to wear to a hockey game . . . in FL?

So the BF got tickets to Sunday's game and it should be about mid 60's outside and maybe a tad cooler inside the rink. I've only seen hockey twice before, once in Madison Square Garden to see The Great One and it was cold, but so much fun! And once to an exposition game in Philly. In NY I was on vacation with a GF and we literally got the tix last minute so no thought went into dress. The Philly game was on vacation as well, so I wore what I had.

This time around I can plan ahead! We will be hitting Nordstrom's as well afterward to get some dress clothes altered for the BF, and then a somewhat nice meal. So no fleece hoodies! But it has to be comfortable enough for the 3 hour round trip in the car and all day of running around town.

A few outfits I first thought of - what do you think? #1 and 2 are versions of Elly's tomboy inspiration Ines thread. #3 the pants are too tight for all day comfort so I was thinking maybe my white jeans (in 4) or my straight leg TR (in 1)? Then again, maybe white in stadium seats isn't such a grand idea . . . I do recall having to bleach white shorts after a baseball game last year. Hmm.

If any of you have great recall of my closet and can suggest others I am more than happy to hear it! I have all day tomorrow to play around Thanks so much!

I like 2 and 3 the best. 3 is gorgeous-- I think you should stay with some sort of jeans even if you need to switch out that particular pair. 2 looks super chic with those pants and boots. (:

Can you wear the top half of #3 with the jeans in #1? If so - that's my pic, I love that jacket!

I really like #3, and I agree that #3 with the dark jeans from #1 would look great. I will say this, though - I always wear some type of outerwear to a hockey game (at least a fleece hoodie... just kidding). It usually is kind of cold inside.

Where will you be sitting? The closer to the ice the colder it is.

Which team will you be rooting for? Wear their colors, and not those of the opposing teams.

I run cold and I tend to bundle up.

Last year a friend invited us to a Sharks game in San Jose (DH is a complete fan.) We were sitting in the third row back and I was dressed warmly. In the first row were several women who were showing off their boob jobs. Seriously. Who goes to a Sharks game to show off your fake cleavage? (I don't really want to know the answer.)

I like #2 and #3, they are a little more special yet still occasion-appropriate and comfortable looking.

As for alternatives for #3 pants, what about the pants worn in #2? (Or those from #1).

I like the above mentioned idea of the top from 3 with the jeans from 1. I do love the unique cut of that jacket.
And if I may offer a trick for staying warm at the hockey game. Toss a small blanket in the car that you can fold up and sit on during the game. Having attended lots of Friday night football games where it could be a bit quite cold I learned that a nice layer of insulation between my behind and the bleachers helps me stay warmer without having to bundle up. Cold bleachers and stadium seats can just suck out all of your body heat and a frozen fannie is mighty uncomfortable.

have you made a decision? I would start with the jacket in #3. I like outfit #4 but I don't think I"d wear those nice boots to a sporting event for fear of getting beer and soda splashed on them.

Thanks, gals!! One of my alternatives for the tight jeans in #3 was the True Religions in #1, glad they seem to be meeting approval. They are straight leg instead of skinny but still pretty slim cut. Let's see if I can find where our seats are . . . http://stpeteforum.org/Tickets.....enueID=102 10 rows back, so pretty chilly I'd think. This would be a perfect time for a fat, fuzzy scarf! They are all in the Tahoe closet - ah well.

Ooh, Kim good thought on the boots and beer!! There are plenty of shoes I don't wear to work for that very reason. Maybe the brown suede clogs for the game and then my taupe booties for Nordie's/dining out

Sounds like a fun even! I like the suggestions you've been given of combining the top half of #3 with the jeans in #1. The blanket is also a really good idea!

I think #2 is fun and unexpected. My only tweak would be to leave out the necklace.

Nicola, the jacket is sold out I think - it's Willow & Clay and was at Nordstrom and also a member here found it at Von Maur (I think?) online. I got mine off eBay, truth be told. So glad you like it! It's my fave purchase of the year, too.
