I've been invited to a cocktail party for some married friends who are both turning 50. The invitation asked everyone to dress in cocktail attire from the couple's birth year, 1959, and specifically mentioned skinny ties and pearls. I'm excited about going to this party, but I don't think I have anything appropriate to wear. I'm also twenty years younger than the birthday couple, fresh out of grad school, and don't want to spend much money on this unless I get a piece I can wear again and again.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I could pull together to look polished and somewhat 1950s era? I am open to literally anything. Thanks!
