We are finally doing the great college tours trip. My son has identified schools in and between Boston, NYC, and Washington DC that we will visit Sept 11-28 (with a few days to try on raincoats).

This trip has been planned and re-planned many times. The packing list I made for an earlier version (canceled) features light cotton, silk, and linen items. Now I'm thinking to take my suede jacket. The basics of what to wear on campus are completely comfortable for me from all my years as student, grad student, and faculty member. I always wear “walking shoes" and plan to pick from the finds here. The style part is easy; it’s the weather that’s tripping me up. I know the weather there has not taken the sudden lurch into fall that we’ve had here, but have a hard time believing it will still be hot in a couple weeks.There haven't been many recent WIWs from that coast, and of course the weather will change over the next few weeks.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
