What to wear, hosting wine party?

On Saturday I will be hosting a small party, about eight people to help drink down my wine cellar. The guy I've been flirting with will be there, so I want to look good. But I'll need to be comfortable because I will opening wine bottles and serving most of the night.

I have a body con striped French Connection dress that I could tone done with my Lanvin smoking slippers. Or I have this shirt, with skinnies?

Wow! Either sounds great. I like the idea of body con, but with flats. Is the dress short or longer? The top with skinnies would look great too. The nice thing about it is that it isn't too obvious, but it looks like it could slip down on your shoulders and maybe show a tiny bit of lovely bra strap, you know, all accidentally and all. Not trying too hard, but flirty nonetheless. And you don't have to worry about how you sit down or bend over. I think I'd go with the top and skinnies for that reason.

I love the shirt you posted and agree with K that there are all kinds of positives to wearing that with skinnies. So my vote goes to that outfit.

another vote for top and skinnies. bodycon dress might be a titch hard to deal with if you have to bend a lot or clean up wine spills.

Another vote for the top and skinnies. You'll look cool, interesting, and a tad sexy but in a not too obvious way. A lot of men don't quite get the dressing down of combining body con and smoking slippers; it confuses them as to what you are trying to say with the outfit. On the other hand, most guys get jeans and a top, but he'll be intrigued by the fact that, when you're wearing that combination, it looks so amazing on you.

BODY CON! ACtually I am sure they will both look sexy and hot. But I think I would lean towards dress - more leg, more skin, more to love. And if you can't manage the bottles in it - well, somebody just might need to pitch in and help you!

Another vote for shirt and skinnies. Comfort (while being somewhat stylish) is key as hostess, if you are comfy then your guests are relaxed. Ideally I always try to wear something that I can just kick off my shoes and curl my legs up on the couch as the evening unwinds...

body con with flats as long as it's long enough and not too low cut and you can bend over in it without flashing naughty bits. hints at your shape without giving away the farm.

you're in your hometurf. i think you'll be comfy in whatever you choose since you are very very comfortable in your style skin.

Boxy top and skinnies gets my vote. Modern, flattering, relaxed yet dressy and you can wear flats.

OK, being halfway serious. Wear shoes that you can gracefully walk around in even after you are a bit tipsy.

I would think the shirt and skinnies since opening bottles and serving can be pretty active. The sheerness of the shirt is sexy especially with maybe one of your special bras underneath. But I agree with the advice to wear what makes you feel most fabulous and natural in your own skin.

Team bodycon dress here. All of my oversized tops are so, so lost on my boyfriend, even if the neckline is deep. So, bodycon dress, even if you have to tug here or there. And I like the idea of wearing it with smoking slippers, which makes it casual and then you are not towering over him. Men like to look down on women's cleavage.
