What to wear - URGENT (Prom edition)

Hey guys

I have a prom in about a month and I'm not too sure which dress/shoes to
wear. I'd like something rather edgy/quirky - to reflect my personality
and make a statement. I'm not big on accessories - but I do love
earrings, and I'd like to wear the dress with vintage gloves (think
Cinderella).

As you can tell, there is not really a running theme throughout the links.
I've
literally just selected shoes that I like, without really considering
the dress. Could you tell me 3 shoes that you like? If there are none, could you suggest the type of shoe I should be looking for - or even better, give me a link please?

I'm definitely not the expert, but if It were me, I'd go with the green or the red of what you linked above! If you want the shoes to "match", though, the Dorothy black ones are also lovely

First off, pretty dress! I would get that first so you can make sure it fits well and it will be easier to judge shoes once you have the dress in-hand.

I have a total poison eye for the shoes you posted, so I am not much help there.

I think you should go with the Victorian/goth look of the dress in your shoe styling. How comfortable are you in heels? Because if you are going to be dancing/standing a lot, you want your feet to be happy!

Those are some high heeled/platform shoes. Will they be comfortable for you to where all night? I think I like the red ones best.

The dress looks fun and original! I like it. You will look unique, not like all the other girls running around in strapless minis.

I'm afraid I have a bit of a poison eye for monster wedges, too. I like some of the ones that Ceit linked to, though. The pointy toe is very on trend.

Right now your best bet is to make sure the dress works; then you can start doing shoes and such afterwards. You are going to look lovely!

Omds - thanks guys for all your comments! I completely get the posion eye thing for the monster wegdes - I've never really considered them as a shoe to wear tbh but I can see the appeal in them.

In terms of heels and stuff, I'm completely fine with wearing them - in fact, I adore high heels!

@Ceit thanks so much for the links - out of all of them I like the Kateys - I must say I've never been a massive fan of court shoes and I really don't want to go for black because I'll be wearing black gloves as well. When you say Victorian/goth and that type of look, do you have any other suggestion of the type of style I could go for?

To me, the Katey would be how you would swing it more goth. Blood red shoes and gloves, or a dark purple would look good too.

But that clunky shoe with the big heel paired with a victorian style dress is how I dressed for one of my high school proms

The Lucy ones are kind of veering into a cybergoth silhouette, which could be a nice juxtaposition with the dress. I think those are my fave of all the ones you posted.

First, I have to say I just love the dress you've picket. Just adore it.

Of the monster platforms, I like the first Dorothy's best. They inject a little colour and are dressy. I must say I also have poison eye for such shoes and think they'd be a style-cramper come prom night. I, personally, was all over the place having fun, and I think it would be hard to run around in these.

I like the Jade shoes that Ceit linked to, but would like them better if they had a little gold like the Dorothy's.

@Hil I liked the 2nd link of the sinistersoles, however my Mum said I have to get something from the UK - she doesn't like international shipping whatsoever *boo.

I've narrowed them down to:

Dorothy 1/2 - I'm not too sure whether I'll choose the silver/gold, but I'm leaning towards the silver.
