What to match with a white/pink dress

Hello everybody, I`m new to this website and I actually found it by accident, luckily for me :=). <br>I have a question regarding matching colors.<br> I`m going on a date later this week and I have bought a cute dress without thinking about what to wear to it. This dress is at the upper part a lace white dress with long lace white arms and then has a pink skirt that ends near the thighs.The lower part of the dress is rose pink. What can i wear to it? I thought that i could wear some tights to it cause of the fact that i don´t want to show my legs. If i wear tights to this dress that are transparent black, what kind of shoes and bag should i match with it? I have a black tote bag that I recently bought that I would like to take, should the shoes also be black then or can i wear pink or white shoes? I want my outfit to feel summery and well put together considering the fact that i have a date to impress ;).

Hi and welcome! Sounds like a pretty dress. Do you have shoes you are thinking of wearing? I'd decide on the shoes and the bag, and then find very transparent hose (skin color on you) or tights that work with those.

Usually for myself I try to stay with tonally similar colors, so if the dress was white and pale pink I'd try to stick with pale gray, nude/tan, silver, or white with the shoes and the transparent tights/hose - or other pastels in the bag perhaps. If it's a deeper darker pink, I might look more at brights in the bag and shoes, or mid range colors.

I would need to try out how black hose looked with the dress, it might be too dark, or if it was very transparent, might be okay. Alternately if you wore a black jacket or cardigan or necklace, it might tie in the top part of your outfit with black shoes or hose.

Hello! First of all, if you happen to have a link to the dress you bought, posting it might help us give better advice. (But maybe that's not possible.)

To me, black hose sounds like it might be too dark for this dress, even if the hose is sheer. Can you wear nude hose? Or you could even possibly wear sheer white hose with a simple pattern on it (that looks more fashion forward than just plain sheer white hose).

If you must wear the black hose, I think Rabbit's suggestion is brilliant, to have something on the top of the dress that will match the black of the hose.

You don't need to match your bag to your shoes. But I wonder if the black tote bag might overwhelm the paler colors of the dress?
