What to buy in India?

My sister is currently travelling in India and has asked for Christmas present suggestions. She said there are lots of pretty clothes there, if we can't think of anything else.

Is there anything particular to suggest getting in India that is not too expensive, heavy or bulky?

Fortunately she has just blogged so I now know about where she is, or at least was (because her blog stays a few weeks behind) She mentioned Kerala, so she is probably in that general part of the country.

Kerala is beautiful!!! Spices are comparatively cheaper than rest of the world and make nice presents to people who like cooking
Also you get very beautiful Elephant memorabilia which again make very nice gifts(Some made from wood and other from Legal ivory: They medically cut the ivory from the Elephants to prevent them from being killed by poachers)
There is Traditional sari which is spectacular...
Also there are face masks available of a traditional dance form called Kathakali which are again a great gifting item
