I think I have the exact Stuart Weitzmans that crazyone showed, and I liberally sprayed them with Meltonian suede protectant when I first got them. https://www.amazon.com/Meltoni.....B008E7X77E It has so far done a decent job of keeping them in good shape.
ETA that I think one trick with lighter colors is to be sure not to direct the spray can too closely onto one area of the suede. You want to wave the can around above a large area of the boot, letting the spray "fall" onto the suede, in that famously well-ventilated area of course, and do it in several coatings, and you should be in good shape. I think I did my boots about three times, lightly each time, and left them to dry in the garage thoroughly after each coating. (And yes, it strained my patience.)
