When I was visiting Las Vegas recently I stopped in at a Lucky jeans store and ended up buying a pair of jeans (psyched because until recently the biggest size they carried in store was too small). I found myself really attracted to the aesthetic, which surprised me becaue it's got a touch of boho and that's absolutely never been my thing. I would describe it as Americana casual with touches of the 70s and maybe a bit of California. There's something about this vibe that is really attracting me these days. The smart casual capsule I designed for fall isn't getting a lot of wear because its all black and white and brights and something about that is not attracting me at all. I want indigo and darker colors and cream and things that are curvy and soft edged, not hard edged and architectural.

In fact, I picked up a black and white striped sweater on clearance at BR today and I think it's going back; too geometric and too many clean lines. I looked at AT and everything was just so 80s power suit, not exactly but in the feel of it somehow, the colors and the blocking and even the black leather trim.

Have I lost it? Maybe it's because it's fall and I always move away from black in fall and winte.r, dunno why.
