Hello everyone, I am currently working on a creative writing assignment for college and I have used this open source picture from google as an inspiration. I came to this forum because I know little about clothing and fashion and would like some advice on what style is worn by these people and if possible links to similar items of clothing. I simply want to write this paper with as much detail as possible and perhaps learn a little bit about fashion in the process.

Could you tell me more about exactly what normcore and "straight up the middle" is? I understand a Yuppie is a young lavish person but I don't know what the style would be.

Yuppie has changed with the times. Still Young Urban Professional, but not quite as lavish like it used to be. You have to look harder, for Fitbits under sleeves. Money is all being siphoned into tech, housing and sour beer.

The Middle is generally trim fit, maybe a little slouch or drape on the side via a topper. Quiet colour and pattern. Medium contrast. Good sneakers. Ankle boots. Flats and oxfords. Uniqlo is a prime source. So actually is Old Navy.

You will easily find definitions of terms like "normcore" and "yuppie" if you google them. See Wikipedia, for instance.

I’ll tell you what, since you’re writing a story or something. A chef (not a short-order cook, this is a good job) at a certain social media company was spotted bidding on a room in a basement apartment with dodgy electric, meth head neighbors who will knock on the barred windows, and flat mates who will steal each other’s stashes to make brownies. This is Straight Up The Middle. Jeans and a tee shirt. On-purpose pretty average looking, nice and harmless, a little flare somewhere, on the outside - hot mess on the inside.
