Ditto here. I've never been able to wear those "no-show" socks although I've tried dozens of brands--assured by friends, websites, and sales people that "these ones really work". Must be the shape of my heels, the way I walk, or sock sizing, or some combination of the above. Like Jenn, after tossing away piles of socks, I've found the Smartwool micros work as do a couple of other low profile brands.
Going barefoot, even with my feet coated in Body Glide, and heels bandaged in tape, only works for short, slow walks. Blistered, bleeding feet are not attractive when I switch to sandals, and immobilizing myself just to be fashionable seems beyond dumb. It is what it is--and fashion critics can sneer all they want.
