What should I wear tomorrow? - YouLookFab Forum

Tomorrow is a rare day that I can wear jeans to work! I also have an ice cream social at my not-so-little guy's new school to meet his new 1st grade teacher as well as other parents. WIll you help me choose a "smart casual" outfit?

My goal is to look appropriate for a casual day at the office as well as looking sharply dressed, yet approachable for meeting new parents and teachers. What do you think of any of these combos?

1. White skinnies, with waist surrendering black and white print top reined in by black-tipped white jacket and black/grey Fidjis
2. Basic white button down, Joe's boot cuts, cognac slides (or animal print heels?) and belt
3. Black-tipped white jacket, boot cut jeans, camel waist surrendering top tucked in with cognac slides and belt
4. White and navy Chanel style jacket, navy knit top tucked into boot cut jeans, cognac slides and belt
5. Black-tipped white jacket, black knit top, boot cuts and black/grey Fidjis

Hard to tell without seeing them on you, but I like #1 and #2 best, maybe followed by #4. They all seem like great options, though.

I like them all but expecially partial to # 3.

They're all nice because you have killer style, but I am particularly attracted to #1. As soon as I opened the photo, I thought "Oooooooh, pretty!"

These are all great outfits. But Christy...will the ice cream social involve actual ice cream? And little children? And sticky hands? Because that is a lot of white for such a situation....

Suz, I didn't know whether to appreciate that response for Comedy or Wisdom - wish I could do both!!! LOL!!! I had the same thought with the white outfit!

*chuckling* at Suz. Your little guy and little gal are both going into 1st grade - we had orientation tonight. I can't believe summer is over!

I'd go for 2 or 3, but honestly, you'd look great in any of these!

I like #1 or #4, leaning towards #4 because I think the jacket is perfect for the occasion you describe.

Hi Christy,
I like all the outfits, but I think #2 and #3 will lend you the very most approachability at the social. You will be my hero if you manage to make it home without any ice cream on you!

Now that I think about it, #3 might be safest. If things get really crazy you can take off the jacket and you still have a really pretty, approachable looking blouse.

Have fun! I love ice cream, but I'm going for wine tomorrow instead:).

Lol, I had the same thought as suz. Plus, I am a klutz so all white plus ice cream is dangerous for me. That being said, I like #3 the best.

ETA: maybe leave off the jacket for the social for a more casual look?

yup, 2 or 3 work best for the casual event, the work ethic, and the ice cream!

I love them all but based on seeing them laid out on the bed it's 4 or 5 for me. I'm just. It crazy about the cognac accessories but I am guessing these are designed to dress the look down (I like the cognac, just not so much with this combo).

4 will be the most practical, BUT Oh, I love them ALL!!! esp mixed with the cognacs:-)
