What shoes should I wear with this dress?

Depends on if you are in winter or summer right now. I like the idea of sandals with a long dress like this, since so much skin on the legs is covered up. A pump might give off a sort-of corporate vibe, and this is a very formal dress.

I would be more inclined to do a sandal or more open shoe as well, although weather is a good consideration. My inclination is a soft metallic -- maybe a pewter? Here are a couple of options if you can go the sandal route ...

I'm throwing in my vote with Anna, for strappy black heels, to pick up the detail in the bodice. In my mind, closed-toe, but only because it is coooooold outside tonight, and I can't wrap my head around sandals.
